Godliness and Reverence: Part 6
Taken from Handbook to Renewal
You have shown me what is good; and what does the Lord require of me but to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with my God? (Micah 6:8)
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. (Matthew 5:6)
I will take heed not to practice my righteousness before men to be seen by them. Otherwise, I will have no reward from my Father in heaven. (Matthew 6:1)
A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. (Matthew 10:24-25)
I will not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul, but rather, I will fear the One who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28)
I want to be more concerned about the things of God than the things of men. (Mark 8:33)
I do not want to justify myself in the eyes of men; God knows our hearts, and what is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God. (Luke 16:15)
I do not want to love praise from men more than praise from God. (John 12:43)
Like Barnabas, I want to be a good person, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. (Acts 11:24)
I will not be lacking in zeal, but I will keep fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. (Romans 12:11)
